Titanium vs Platinum: what changes before you join?

Titanium is the lower-commitment starting point if you simply want access to World Tours and Resort Getaways; the official enrollment display places both features in that tier.

Platinum presents a different question: its stated delta is 120 more Travel Points per month plus Lowest Rate Buy-Down. A label cannot answer whether that changes the cost or terms of your trip.

Without a named trip, Titanium is the honest default. A documented booking can later show whether Platinum deserves another look.

This card reports the enrollment display, not a checkout quote. It does not establish taxes, currency, availability, member inventory, savings, a final total, or a lowest-rate outcome.

A named booking is the only way to test whether Platinum’s displayed Buy-Down feature changes this tier decision. Write down the destination, dates, party size, room or tour, and cancellation terms; keep those details fixed while you inspect each tier.

Save the points requested, mandatory cash shown, and conditions displayed for that one booking. If Platinum’s Buy-Down feature seems relevant, capture the screen and the terms beside it; do not swap in a marketing phrase or a different resort.

No formula belongs here. The only question is whether the unchanged booking supplies a concrete reason to consider the higher displayed commitment.

Lower-commitment tier

Choose Titanium when access to World Tours and Resort Getaways is enough for your intended use, or when you do not have a named booking that makes Platinum’s extra features relevant.

Requires a real Buy-Down case

Consider Platinum only when the same named booking gives you a documented reason to investigate the Buy-Down feature and the extra monthly points. That is a verification task, not a promise of a lower price.

Insufficient checkout evidence

Stop here if you cannot inspect the same booking, its mandatory cash, points requested, conditions, and cancellation terms. The enrollment display alone cannot settle the upgrade.

Travel Points are restricted units with no redeemable dollar value under the current official terms. They may be used to buy down the rate of Getaways and World Tours, cannot be transferred to another account, and cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash.
